Press Release Summary: Karlsruhe, February 14, 2008 - CeBIT is the world's most comprehensive showcase of digital technology. CeBIT 2008 (www.cebit.de/homepage_e) will be held from March 4-9 in Hannover, Germany. ABAS Software, together with its sales partners, will present the latest innovations found in the Version 2008 release of its abas Business Software (ERP, PPC, MRP, eBusiness) in Hall 5, Booth A18.
Press Release Body: "Innovations and improvements in the fields of eBusiness, implementation and qualification management, as well as costing, pricing and service processing will be presented, " states Werner Strub, CEO of ABAS Software, "The expanding international orientation of abas Business Software will also be a focus of the show."
Visitors to the ABAS booth can expect to receive more information on the following Version 2008 highlights:
eLearning In addition to traditional "face-to-face" training, abas eLearning offers its customers further training that can be completed anytime online. The eLearning feature is especially advantageous for customers who've already partaken in the traditional training, but now must learn additional functionality. Instead of having to invest the time and money to travel to the training sessions, customers now can learn new functionality online at their home location. At CeBIT, an exemplary abas ERP sales order process will be demonstrated using the abas eTrainer.
International address formats Developed for multinational companies, this feature records all foreign address formats and maintains them in one location for use in various printing methods. The new address formats are created in the countries, regions and economic areas database. The layout of the address with several lines will then be created automatically for the print applications from this object.
Service center All data pertaining to a service order can now be accessed online by the service technician with the new service center feature. This interface has been created in the eBusiness solution abas eB and can be operated per touch pad or touch screen. The online ordering of spare parts can be further accessed through a Webshop integration.
Pricing Pricing and discounting now follow a new logic. Existing blanket orders are first taken into account, followed by price and discount lists, and then the product master file specifications. The price, price unit, trade unit, unit conversion factors and discounts are adopted from existing blanket orders. Price and discount scales can be created in a customer, product, quantity and date specific manner. Additional pricing highlights include: § Setup prices, unit prices, group prices and discounts, as well as multiple discounts can be specified. § Pricing can either be carried out for individual purchasing and sales items or for previously specified product groups. § Flat rate prices can now be specified. § Gross and net prices can be created and recorded separately
Preliminary and final costing A new infosystem enables the direct comparison between preliminary and final costing results from work orders or work order suggestions, resulting in improved controlling measures. Preliminary costing can also be directly carried out from the screen for work order suggestions. This new simultaneous costing is based on posted finished production completions, posted materials consumption and the special direct costs of production and sales.
FOP programming with groovy The programming language groovy has been integrated with Java for flexible interface programming (FOP). This facilities quicker development with the same quality standards.
